Motor Skills - how your child moves in space and uses items as they do activities
Will effect both Motor and Process Skills
Paces: how your child is able to perform a task, do they take a long time to move through the steps.
- Stabilizes: how your child moves through places, losing balance or bumping into things, others may perceive this as clumsiness
- Grips: how your child holds a pencil, or uses scissors, picks up small objects; may look different to others or they may struggle with these actions
- Manipulates: these are fine-motor movements, using the fingers. Your child may fumble with objects such as buttons
- Co-ordinates: your child may need to use more than one body part to stabilize an object e.g., using two hands to catch a ball
- Flows: how your child moves their arms and hands as they move or play with objects.
- Endures: your child may become tired quicker then their peers and need to rest to help with this, or use different equipment.
