The activity may be something that your child does in school, or therapy. This does not mean you cannot do them at home as activities, games, or play to further engage them.
The activities included are a sample of how the performance skills mentioned can be addressed. the activities have been categorized in the following way:
- Gross-motor: these activities address big body movements and actions, improving strength, stability, balance and body coordination.
- Fine-motor: these activities address the smaller movements of the hands, improving grip strength for writing and typing in particular.
- Construction: these activities address your child's ability to use their fine-motor skills to manipulate materials and make things e.g. a small model.
- Organization: these activities address your child's ability to organize their space e.g. a school locker, or organize their time effectively. Time management is important in school for classes and home work deadlines for instance.
