IMPACT OF DYSPRAXIA
Dyspraxia can influence your child’s life in many different ways. It will affect what they can do and how they feel in a wide range of different places. At home it may be small things like how they eat at the table, or what their room looks like (maybe a little disorganized), Mom might call that messy.
When playing or doing physical activity Dyspraxia could present as clumsiness, lack of balance or coordination. Dyspraxia does not just affect what you can see your child do, it also affects how they hear, think about, and process things. This could present in the classroom as only being able to follow two out of four instructions given. Because they do not have the skills to retain and follow the information.
Many children like to play with small items or make models. When constructing things you may notice your child cannot use their hands and fingers effectively when cutting or manipulating materials. They may also have difficulty producing legible handwriting when taking notes, or writing papers for school.
